Cecily Solomons was born South African and moved to Germany with her family when she was 11 years old.
During her studies in Social Pedagogy at the University of Applied Sciences Frankfurt/Main, Germany, she also worked for the Department of Multicultural Affairs in Frankfurt/Main. Having taken the decision to return to South Africa in 2009 she embarked on her Masters degree in Intercultural Communication at the University of Stellenbosch. She specialized in cultural diversity based on research of language-related aspects of intercultural communication in specific discourse domains, i.e. education, business, public affairs and law in South Africa.
Both from her studies and through the work that she has done with various organisations during and in between her studies, she has gained skills in Project Management, Conflict Management and Teaching/Training.
She joined CIELARKO in May 2011 and currently also teaches German at the German Language Centre in Cape Town.
